DREAM POEMS
These objects that I've created are based on dream poems.
"Dream poems are those that have escaped on time from the conscious, before the interference of the mind, which it’s nature
is to think of course, and they conserve
the dream's ambience and it’s other logic."
(Agi Mishol / Dream Notebook)
The objects are different from each other but appear to be related: They all are with humour and grace, each object has it’s own "story"
with a macabre and absurd message, they seem to be functional but actually they are not.
Joining those elements together make us see the objects as "Dadaism" pieces, which are based on the absurd, on alienation and on absolute lack of logic.

There is an ironic glamour to smoking. However much we try to demonise it, smoking always seems to be a symbol of seduction and independance. The cigarette is countlessly shown hanging on the lips of idols, breathing out its smoke in wispy shapes, and it is strangely beautiful.

Combining experimental fashion design with textiles, as a means for sculpture, has lead me to create this collection of dresses inspired by my natural enviroment. Its stunning yet simplistic shapes and bold colours are transferred on to natures most beautiful canvas, the human body.

This three part series of paintings explores the body and it's limits. By manipulating the body, squeezing it into places it doesn't fit, creates
a physical tension, uncomfortable and uneasy.
I want the viewer to feel the discomfort and almost painful situation the body is in.
Our society persecutes people of different shapes and sizes, trying to fit everyone into a particular category. This is a reaction to the pushing and manipulating of society - how far we can take the body. It can be seen as a symbol for all the pressures experienced in our lives. Using the body as a metaphor to the fragility of human life, the transient nature of our society today.

I just like the fact that I can't come up with
an answer or a statement about my work.
I like this unquestioned silence

The theme ‘Favelas’ started with the excuse to make use of colour.
I made the most of basic rectangular and square forms to simply fill with colours, the intention being to play with the dialogue between them. After I finished some works in this way,
my interest returned every time towards
the caotic. I focused my attention on the lines that
cut the scenery, that cut the canvas.
There, I think that the theme mixes with my life experience in Barcelona and I see the caotic in two distinctive worlds.

In my work, I search for the possibility of a bigger participation and integration of the community through art, using urban spaces as a support. From urban interventions registered and an installation, I consider the reflection of daily social matters. My personal language is art, therefore I create solidarity and the chance of being, with open art as resource of social transformation.

TIRED OF FOLDING T-SHIRTS?
It can sometimes be nice to see that the things you do everyday and do not pay much attention to can actually be fun and interesting if you look at them in another aspect.Folding T-shirts is a common daily activity and it can be very boring.
But can it also be art?
There are many ways of folding T-shirts, and some techniques, like the one I showed you only takes 2,1 sec. and less effort!!!!
On thursday 10.03.2005, I went up to the park next to Metafora with a table and a T-shirt. I talked to the people in the park. I asked them to show me how they usually fold their T-shirts and asked them if they wanted to learn a new technique.
The result was filmed and a little short film was made. One older lady who tried the new technique told me, “You should never go to bed at night, without having learned one new thing”.
I will always remember this sentence and also try to do more things where I can interact with people

My work this year is all connected by the influences of travel, some of them depict memories of those places and others are a reflection of how I feel they are effecting my life right now.
This picture (1m x 85cm oil on canvas) is part of a portrait series I have done about the four different directions that I could take in this particular time of my life. The painting reflects the maternal path and the others are images of travel, career, and the female power to live from a man. My problem is that I want them all.
Choice. Is seeing the world and opening your mind greed or education? It's time to choose.
